Welcome to PrestwichFestival 2011
Now in its third year, but only just !!!, with the help of some local businesses who came forward to sponsor the Festival and events we are able to continue having 35 days of fun and entertainment here in Prestwich, many thanks to these kind benefactors.
All your favourites are back, we kick off with THE CLOUGH DAY on the 15th May, AND A BRIDAL FAYRE, other events include, THE BAND CONCERTS, THE CONCERT SERIES, our now famous FARMERS MARKET, PROCESSION OF HORSES, PRESTWICH HAS JUNIOR TALENT, EVENING AT THE THEATRE AND FINALLY PRESTWICH CARNIVAL & GRAND PARADE 18th & 19th JUNE. all listed in your programme, and much much more..
The aims of the Prestwich Festival remain the same:
- To bring people into Prestwich - supporting local businesses;
- To bring Prestwich diverse communities together ;
- To provide an opportunity for local people/groups to showcase their talents ;
- To raise funds for local charities and community projects; and
- To create success stories associated with Prestwich.
As Prestwich Festival 2011 organiser I must thank all the events organisers, plus the team that helped me, the Festival steering group, Ruth Shedwick who once again delivered a first class programme, Rose De for all her support, Liz Gillan Town centres co-ordinator, The Web Design Company, finally two local reporters who support and promote Prestwich Festival, Dale at the Guide and Ailsa at the Advertiser, many thanks.
